Document One
These Terms & Conditions govern use of The Weekend Tape website, online booking, payment, editing service, delivery of digital files, and your overall relationship with The Weekend Tape.
This website and service are operated by Joy and Ben LLC, doing business as The Weekend Tape. Throughout these Terms & Conditions, “The Weekend Tape,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape.
By visiting this website, purchasing The Weekend Tape, accepting these terms electronically, receiving or using a kit, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Kit Rental Agreement shown in the Kit Rental Agreement tab on this page.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not complete a purchase or use The Weekend Tape services or equipment.
The Weekend Tape is a mail-order camcorder-kit and editing service designed for weddings and wedding weekends.
We provide one or more ready-to-film camcorder kits for footage captured by you, your guests, family members, friends, or other people you choose. We then use returned footage to create your nostalgic Weekend Tape.
Our current camcorder-kit options are:
Unless otherwise stated, a booking includes the applicable ready-to-film kit or kits, standard shipping both ways, an edited approximately 3–5 minute Weekend Tape, all usable raw clips, and one year of online gallery access after delivery.
Current optional upgrades may include an Extended Weekend Tape for $195, Rush Delivery for $95, Rush Edit for $175, and a Keepsake USB + Wooden Box for $195, subject to availability and the terms shown at booking.
The Weekend Tape is not traditional professional videography and is not intended to guarantee the same coverage or production style as a professional videographer or camera crew. The finished Weekend Tape is created from guest-filmed footage and will reflect the footage actually captured, returned, and usable.
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal authority to enter into this agreement in order to book The Weekend Tape and take responsibility for a kit.
For weddings more than 60 days away, the standard reservation process requires a $150 non-refundable reservation payment. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the wedding date.
For weddings 60 days away or less, full payment is required at booking unless The Weekend Tape expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
A wedding date is reserved after the required booking steps are completed, including any required agreement acceptance and the applicable reservation payment or full payment.
All required booking amounts must be paid in full before rental equipment is shipped. The Weekend Tape has no obligation to release or ship rental equipment while any required balance remains outstanding.
If a remaining balance is paid late and expedited shipping becomes necessary, the client is responsible for the additional shipping cost. Expedited shipping remains subject to kit inventory and carrier availability and is not guaranteed.
Optional equipment, Dual Camcorder Kit upgrades, Extended Weekend Tape, Rush Delivery, Rush Edit, keepsake products, shipping changes, late fees, damage charges, replacement charges, or other amounts authorized under these Terms or the Kit Rental Agreement may result in additional amounts due.
Prices, add-ons, service details, and availability may change for future bookings. Once a booking has been accepted, the price paid for that booking will generally be honored unless you request changes, additional equipment, upgrades, shipping changes, or other modifications.
Availability depends on kit inventory, shipping timelines, wedding date, location, and service capacity.
If we determine that we cannot reasonably fulfill a booking, we may cancel the booking and issue an appropriate refund for amounts paid for services we are unable to provide.
The Weekend Tape is currently available for weddings within the United States only.
We do not currently offer international shipping or international kit rentals.
Special shipping circumstances within the United States may require additional coordination or charges.
Because The Weekend Tape includes temporary use of physical equipment, every booking is also subject to the Kit Rental Agreement available in the Kit Rental Agreement tab on this page.
The Kit Rental Agreement includes additional terms concerning equipment ownership, kit contents, shipping, return deadlines, late returns, damage, loss, replacement costs, memory cards, footage handling, and client responsibilities.
If there is a conflict between these Terms & Conditions and the Kit Rental Agreement, the Kit Rental Agreement will control for matters specifically relating to equipment rental, possession, care, use, return, damage, loss, or replacement.
We typically plan for your kit to arrive approximately 3 days before your wedding date. The standard rental period is intended to give you the kit for up to 7 calendar days total, unless another schedule is confirmed in writing.
Delivery timing may be adjusted when reasonably necessary for travel, venue access, planner handoff, carrier schedules, or other wedding logistics. The shipping and return dates shown in your booking communications and kit instructions are the dates that apply to your reservation.
Shipping timelines can be affected by carrier delays, weather, holidays, incorrect shipping information, delivery access, supply issues, or circumstances outside our control.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address and a reliable delivery location.
We are not responsible for delays or missed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete shipping information supplied by you.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the complete kit must be tendered to the return carrier designated or approved by The Weekend Tape by the return deadline provided with your booking and kit instructions. The standard schedule is generally within 3 business days after the wedding date and within the stated 7-day rental period.
“Tendered” means physically delivering the properly packaged kit to the approved carrier and obtaining carrier acceptance or another verifiable carrier record showing that the return shipment was accepted. Creating a shipping label or scheduling a pickup does not by itself constitute timely return.
A late fee of $50 per day may apply for each day the kit remains late, to the extent permitted by law.
Additional return requirements, the point at which equipment may be deemed unreturned, and related replacement responsibilities are described in the Kit Rental Agreement.
The Weekend Tape is intentionally designed to be filmed by guests, family, friends, and other people chosen by you.
You understand that the quality, quantity, stability, lighting, audio, framing, subject matter, and overall usability of footage depend on how the camcorder is used during the wedding weekend.
We do not guarantee that specific people, vows, speeches, dances, reactions, details, locations, events, conversations, or moments will be captured.
Footage may be shaky, blurry, dark, bright, loud, quiet, incomplete, accidental, imperfect, or otherwise reflect the informal nature of guest filming.
We will make reasonable efforts to access, review, edit, and deliver usable footage returned to us.
We are not responsible for footage that is missing, deleted, corrupted, damaged, never recorded, incomplete, inaccessible, unusable, or unavailable because of guest use, user error, equipment misuse, memory-card issues, battery issues, shipping issues, file errors, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If little or no usable footage is captured or returned, we may be unable to create a complete edited Weekend Tape. A lack of usable guest-filmed footage does not automatically entitle the client to a refund because kit preparation, reservation, shipping, equipment access, and other services may already have been provided.
The Weekend Tape uses creative judgment and discretion in selecting footage, arranging clips, determining pacing, shaping the story, treating audio, and creating the final Weekend Tape.
The Weekend Tape is edited for memory rather than perfection. It is intended to feel like a nostalgic home movie, not a polished cinematic wedding production.
Editing is subjective. Dissatisfaction with creative style, clip selection, pacing, length, guest filming quality, or the intentionally imperfect nature of the footage is not by itself grounds for a refund.
One revision is included. Revision requests must be submitted within 14 days after delivery of the finished Weekend Tape. Additional revisions, if accepted, may require an additional fee.
The standard Weekend Tape is typically approximately 3–5 minutes in length, depending on the amount and quality of usable footage received.
The Extended Weekend Tape upgrade is currently $195 and targets an approximately 8–10 minute finished edit.
Tape lengths are approximate rather than guaranteed exact runtimes. The amount and quality of usable footage received may affect what can reasonably be included in the finished Weekend Tape.
All usable raw clips are generally delivered to the client’s online gallery within 72 hours after we receive the returned kit.
Standard delivery of the finished Weekend Tape is generally 3–5 weeks after we receive the returned kit.
When capacity allows, Rush Edit is available for $175 and targets delivery of the finished Weekend Tape within 10 business days after we receive the returned kit. Rush Edit is separate from Rush Delivery.
The Weekend Tape is not required to begin or continue editing, final processing, file preparation, revision work, or delivery until all rental equipment has been returned, the returned kit has been inspected, and all amounts properly due under the booking and Kit Rental Agreement have been paid or otherwise resolved in writing.
Any stated editing or delivery timeline may be suspended while equipment remains late, missing, damaged, unreturned, under inspection, or while properly due rental-related amounts remain unpaid.
Usable raw clips included with your collection will generally be delivered digitally through your online gallery within 72 hours after we receive the returned kit.
“Usable raw clips” means clips that we can reasonably access, open, transfer, and deliver from the returned memory card or from supplemental footage accepted by us.
We are not required to deliver corrupted files, files that cannot be opened, blank clips, unusable files, or content that cannot reasonably be transferred or delivered.
Your finished Weekend Tape and all usable raw clips are intended to remain available and backed up in your online gallery for one year after delivery. You are responsible for downloading and safely storing the files you want to keep before that period ends.
You may download, save, share, post, copy, and enjoy the delivered Weekend Tape and usable raw clips for personal use.
By booking The Weekend Tape, you acknowledge that video and audio may be recorded throughout your wedding or wedding weekend.
You are responsible for informing guests, vendors, venue staff, and other participants about recording when notice or permission is appropriate or required.
You confirm that you have authority to provide us with footage captured during your event and to allow us to receive, store, review, process, edit, and deliver that footage for purposes of performing the service.
You may also send supplemental footage digitally after the wedding, including drone footage, phone clips, or footage from another camera. We may incorporate outside footage when it fits the story and is technically usable, but submission does not guarantee that any particular outside clip will be used.
We do not sell your private wedding footage to advertisers or unrelated third parties.
By booking The Weekend Tape, you grant Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape permission to use reasonable portions of your edited Weekend Tape, usable raw clips, still images, audio, feedback, and related wedding content for our portfolio, website, social media, promotional, educational, and advertising purposes.
This may include use on The Weekend Tape website, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, email marketing, digital advertising, printed materials, and similar promotional channels.
We may crop, resize, shorten, caption, combine, format, or otherwise adapt content for those purposes.
We will make reasonable efforts to use wedding content respectfully and in a way that reflects the spirit of The Weekend Tape.
Prefer to keep your footage private?
You may opt out of public portfolio, social media, and advertising use by notifying us in writing at [email protected] as early as possible and preferably before your finished Weekend Tape is delivered.
If content has already been published, we will make reasonable efforts to remove it from platforms we directly control after receiving a written request. We cannot guarantee removal from third-party reposts, screenshots, archives, search engines, or copies already distributed by others.
Your finished Weekend Tape may include original audio from the footage and music selected or licensed by The Weekend Tape when applicable.
Third-party platforms may mute, restrict, remove, block, or limit playback of video or audio according to their own copyright systems, policies, or platform rules.
We are not responsible for restrictions or takedowns imposed by third-party platforms.
Because each kit is reserved and prepared for a particular wedding or event, the following cancellation policy applies unless otherwise required by law or expressly agreed by The Weekend Tape in writing.
For bookings made more than 60 days before the wedding, the $150 reservation payment is non-refundable.
Any additional amounts paid may be refundable, partially refundable, or non-refundable depending on the timing of the cancellation, non-recoverable costs already incurred, work already performed, and whether the kit has shipped.
Once the kit has shipped, the booking is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law or expressly agreed by The Weekend Tape in writing.
Cancellation must be provided in writing and is effective when received by The Weekend Tape.
If your wedding or event is postponed or the date changes, we will make reasonable efforts to transfer the reservation to the new date when kit inventory, editing capacity, and shipping capacity allow. Date changes are not guaranteed. Any actual additional shipping, handling, equipment, or other costs caused by the change may be charged to you.
If we are unable to provide the booked kit because of circumstances within our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to provide replacement equipment, an alternate solution, a credit, or an appropriate refund based on the circumstances and services already provided.
The Weekend Tape will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
This may include severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, illness, emergencies, shipping-carrier disruptions, equipment shortages, supply shortages, labor disputes, government restrictions, power outages, internet outages, or similar events outside our reasonable control.
You agree not to use this website or our services for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.
You may not copy, reproduce, resell, scrape, exploit, or materially misuse our branding, website copy, designs, prompts, instructions, photographs, videos, service materials, or other protected content without permission.
Website content, branding, graphics, photographs, videos, service names, prompts, instructions, and related business materials are owned by or licensed to Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape unless otherwise stated.
We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current.
We may correct errors, change future pricing, modify services, change add-ons, or discontinue offerings without prior notice.
Our website and services may rely on third-party payment processors, shipping carriers, email services, video-hosting platforms, file-delivery services, website providers, and other technology providers.
We are not responsible for independent third-party policies, outages, delays, security practices, errors, or service availability.
Personal information submitted through our website or booking process is subject to our Privacy Policy.
We may collect information necessary to provide the service, including your name, email address, telephone number, wedding date, wedding location, billing information, shipping information, order details, and communications.
Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our website and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
We do not guarantee that the final Weekend Tape will contain specific moments, people, audio, vows, speeches, dances, reactions, or events.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages arising from the service, equipment, guest-filmed footage, lost footage, missed moments, shipping delays, third-party restrictions, or use of this website.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for a claim related to a specific booking or service will not exceed the amount actually paid for the service giving rise to that claim.
Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations or exclusions, so some limitations may not apply.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Joy and Ben LLC, The Weekend Tape, its owners, employees, contractors, editors, service providers, and affiliates from third-party claims, losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms & Conditions, the Kit Rental Agreement, and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to a booking, rental, payment obligation, equipment, or services provided by The Weekend Tape will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Arizona and agree that an action arising out of or relating to these agreements may be brought in an appropriate court located in Arizona. If applicable consumer-protection, consumer-lease, jurisdictional, or other mandatory law does not permit Arizona law or an Arizona forum to control a particular dispute, that mandatory law will apply only to the extent required.
Nothing in these agreements prevents The Weekend Tape from bringing an action or taking another lawful enforcement step in a different jurisdiction when reasonably necessary to recover equipment, collect amounts properly due, enforce a judgment, obtain provisional or injunctive relief, or otherwise protect its property or legal rights.
If you fail to timely return equipment, fail to pay an amount properly due, damage or fail to return rental property, breach these agreements, or otherwise cause The Weekend Tape to take reasonable action to protect or enforce its contractual or property rights, you agree, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to reimburse The Weekend Tape for reasonable costs actually incurred in connection with that collection, enforcement, or recovery.
Recoverable amounts may include reasonable attorneys' fees, court filing fees and taxable court costs, collection-agency fees, service-of-process costs, reasonable costs of locating or recovering rental equipment, reasonable shipping or retrieval expenses, reasonable costs of documenting damage, loss, or replacement value, fees incurred to enforce or collect a judgment, and other reasonable third-party costs directly resulting from your breach or failure to satisfy amounts properly due, in each case only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
In any formal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these agreements, the prevailing party will be entitled, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and recoverable costs. These rights are in addition to any other right to fees or costs available by contract, statute, rule, judgment, or law.
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce that or another provision later.
These Terms & Conditions, the Kit Rental Agreement, Privacy Policy, booking confirmation, checkout information, and any written modifications agreed to by the parties together form the agreement relating to The Weekend Tape service.
Payment obligations, equipment-return obligations, replacement and damage responsibilities, payment authorization, intellectual-property rights, indemnification, limitations of liability, governing-law, jurisdiction, collection, enforcement, and attorneys' fee provisions survive completion, cancellation, expiration, or termination of a booking to the extent necessary to enforce rights or obligations arising from the relationship.
We may update the public version of these Terms & Conditions by posting an updated version on our website.
For an existing booking, the version accepted at booking will generally govern that booking unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.

By completing your purchase, accepting this agreement electronically, receiving the kit, permitting others to use it, or using the equipment, you agree to the terms below.

The Weekend Tape provides a temporary-use camcorder kit together with related editing services.
This agreement explains the terms relating to the physical equipment, including delivery, possession, use, care, return, late fees, damage, loss, theft, missing equipment, memory cards, and related responsibilities.
This Kit Rental Agreement works together with the Terms & Conditions shown in the first tab on this page and the Privacy Policy.
If there is a conflict, this Kit Rental Agreement controls for issues specifically concerning rental equipment, equipment possession, use, damage, loss, return deadlines, late fees, or replacement obligations.
Depending on your order, your shipment may contain one or more complete camcorder kits.
A standard complete kit may include:
A Dual Camcorder Kit includes two complete independent kits, not simply a second camera.
Exact equipment may vary based on availability, equipment updates, equipment substitutions, or other approved modifications. You are responsible for returning all reusable equipment and accessories provided with your kit.
All reusable equipment included in the kit remains the property of Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape.
Booking does not transfer ownership of the camcorder, memory card, batteries, charger, light, carrying case, or other rental equipment.
You receive temporary permission to use the equipment only in connection with the wedding or wedding weekend associated with your reservation.
For weddings more than 60 days away, the standard reservation process requires a $150 non-refundable reservation payment, with the remaining balance due 60 days before the wedding date.
For weddings 60 days away or less, full payment is required at booking unless The Weekend Tape expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Current optional charges may include a Dual Camcorder Kit upgrade, Rush Delivery for $95, Extended Weekend Tape for $195, Rush Edit for $175, and a Keepsake USB + Wooden Box for $195, subject to availability and the booking terms.
Your responsibility for the kit begins when the shipment is delivered or first attempted for delivery to the address you supplied.
We typically plan delivery for approximately 3 days before your wedding date. The standard rental period is intended to provide up to 7 calendar days total, unless another schedule is confirmed in writing.
Your responsibility continues until the returned kit has been received back by The Weekend Tape, subject to the shipping and return provisions below.
You must tender the kit to the approved return carrier by the return deadline stated in your booking communications and kit instructions. The standard schedule is generally within 3 business days after your wedding date and within the stated 7-day rental period.
We will make reasonable efforts to have the kit arrive approximately 3 days before your wedding date, subject to the schedule confirmed for your booking.
We may coordinate delivery timing around wedding travel or, when arranged in advance, ship the kit to a wedding planner or another approved recipient or location.
Carrier delays, weather, holidays, incorrect addresses, delivery-access issues, emergencies, or other circumstances may affect delivery.
You are responsible for providing an accurate, complete shipping address and a secure delivery location.
Notify us promptly if your shipping information changes.
Kit rentals are currently available only for weddings within the United States.
You are responsible for the kit while it is in your possession or control.
You agree to:
You are also responsible for the conduct of guests, family members, friends, vendors, or other people to whom you give possession or use of the equipment.
The person accepting responsibility for the kit must be at least 18 years old.
A minor should not be left solely responsible for receiving, returning, storing, or managing the equipment.
The service is designed so that guests, family, and friends may use the camcorder.
You decide who is allowed to handle the equipment.
Guest use may result in imperfect footage, accidental recordings, shaky footage, missed moments, blurry footage, inconsistent sound, or other limitations.
You agree not to:
We make reasonable efforts to send equipment in good working condition.
Inspect the kit reasonably soon after delivery. If anything is missing, damaged, or apparently not functioning, contact us as soon as practical at [email protected] .
Do not attempt to dismantle or materially repair equipment yourself.
If equipment appears not to be working, contact us promptly so we can attempt troubleshooting.
Depending on timing, circumstances, and available inventory, we may provide troubleshooting, replacement equipment, an alternate solution, a credit, or an appropriate refund.
We are not responsible for failure to capture footage resulting from guest or user error, failure to press record, intentional deletion, failure to follow instructions, misuse, or environmental damage.
You must tender the complete kit to the return carrier designated or approved by The Weekend Tape by the return deadline stated in your booking communications and kit instructions. Unless another schedule is confirmed in writing, the standard deadline is generally within 3 business days after your wedding date and within the stated 7-day rental period.
“Tender” means physically delivering the properly packaged kit to the approved carrier and obtaining carrier acceptance or another verifiable carrier record showing that the return shipment was accepted.
Creating a shipping label, scheduling a pickup, leaving the package at an unapproved location, or otherwise preparing the kit for shipment does not by itself constitute timely return.
You must use the return packaging, shipping label, and shipping method provided or approved by The Weekend Tape unless we authorize another method in writing.
You are responsible for returning all reusable equipment and accessories supplied with your order, including the camcorder, memory card, batteries, charger, LED light, protective case, camcorder carry bag, cables, adapters, and any other reusable items included with the kit.
You should retain your carrier receipt and tracking information until The Weekend Tape confirms receipt of the returned kit.
If the complete kit is not tendered to the approved return carrier by the applicable return deadline, a late fee of $50 per day may be assessed for each day the return remains late, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Late fees may accrue through the earlier of: (a) the date the complete kit is properly tendered to the approved return carrier; (b) the date The Weekend Tape deems the applicable equipment unreturned under this agreement; or (c) another date or resolution expressly approved by The Weekend Tape in writing. Late fees do not continue indefinitely after equipment is formally deemed unreturned; at that point, accrued late fees and applicable replacement amounts may both become due.
The Weekend Tape may, in its reasonable discretion, waive or reduce some or all late fees for a minor delay, emergency, carrier issue, or other circumstance we consider appropriate. A waiver or reduction in one instance does not require a waiver in another instance and does not waive our right to enforce this agreement later.
If late fees are assessed, those assessed amounts must be paid or otherwise resolved in writing before The Weekend Tape is required to begin or continue editing, final processing, revision work, or delivery of the Weekend Tape, raw clips, or any other deliverables.
A late return may prevent The Weekend Tape from fulfilling another customer's reservation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may also be responsible for reasonable and documented losses directly caused by your failure to return the equipment as required.
Payment of a late fee does not extend the rental period, transfer ownership of the equipment, or give you the right to retain or continue using the equipment.
All rental equipment remains the property of Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape at all times.
If the kit has not been tendered to the approved return carrier within 7 calendar days after the applicable return deadline, and you have not received a written extension from The Weekend Tape, we may deem the kit or applicable equipment unreturned.
We may also deem equipment unreturned if you communicate that you cannot or will not return it, if tracking or other reliable information establishes that the equipment was not returned as required, or if a returned shipment is missing rental equipment.
Once equipment is deemed unreturned, the applicable reasonable replacement amount becomes immediately due in addition to any late-return fees properly accrued before the equipment was deemed unreturned. Payment of late fees does not satisfy the separate replacement obligation, and payment of a replacement amount does not erase properly accrued late-return fees. The Weekend Tape may take reasonable lawful steps to recover the equipment or amounts owed.
You remain responsible for equipment that is lost, stolen, destroyed, materially damaged, intentionally altered, or not returned while under your responsibility, including loss or damage caused by guests, family members, friends, vendors, or other persons to whom you provide access to the equipment.
Reporting equipment as lost or stolen does not automatically eliminate your financial responsibility under this agreement.
If equipment previously deemed unreturned is later recovered by The Weekend Tape, we may reasonably adjust amounts owed or collected to account for the equipment's condition, late fees, shipping, repair costs, replacement costs already incurred, collection expenses, and other amounts properly due under this agreement.
Depending on the item and circumstances, amounts for lost, stolen, unreturned, missing, or damaged equipment may include:
These amounts are intended to reimburse The Weekend Tape for reasonable loss, repair, or replacement costs and are not intended as penalties.
When reasonable repair or replacement cost is lower than a listed maximum, we may charge the lower amount. When a loss or item is not specifically listed, you remain responsible for its reasonable actual repair or replacement cost to the extent permitted by this agreement and applicable law.
Payment of a replacement amount does not transfer ownership of unrecovered equipment to you unless The Weekend Tape expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
You agree to pay all amounts properly due under this agreement, including applicable unpaid booking balances, assessed late-return fees, reasonable repair costs, replacement costs, special cleaning charges, additional shipping costs for which you are responsible, and other rental-related amounts expressly authorized by this agreement.
By completing checkout and expressly accepting the Terms & Conditions and this Kit Rental Agreement, you authorize The Weekend Tape to request that its payment processor securely store or maintain the payment method associated with your booking, to the extent supported by the processor and permitted by applicable law, for the purpose of collecting amounts that later become properly due in connection with your rental.
You authorize The Weekend Tape to initiate one or more charges to that authorized payment method, including when you are not actively participating in the transaction, for properly due amounts arising from your rental, including assessed late-return fees; reasonable repair or special-cleaning charges; replacement costs for damaged, missing, lost, stolen, or unreturned equipment; additional shipping or retrieval costs for which you are responsible; and other rental-related amounts expressly authorized by this agreement. These are not regularly scheduled recurring payments. A charge may occur only if an amount becomes due because of circumstances arising from your specific booking or rental.
The amount of any such charge will be determined using the fees, stated maximums, reasonable actual repair or replacement costs, shipping or recovery costs, and other calculation methods described in this agreement. The Weekend Tape will not knowingly charge amounts unrelated to your booking or amounts not properly due under this agreement.
When reasonably practical, The Weekend Tape will provide written notice describing an additional rental-related charge and the reason for it before or at the time the charge is initiated. Providing notice does not create an additional cure period or eliminate a payment obligation that is already due.
If a payment method cannot be charged, is declined, has expired, is no longer available, or the payment processor does not permit the intended charge, your obligation to pay the properly due amount remains in effect. The Weekend Tape may request payment by invoice, payment link, another authorized payment method, or pursue reasonable collection or legal remedies permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for reasonable costs actually incurred by The Weekend Tape to collect amounts properly due or recover its equipment, including reasonable attorneys' fees, court filing fees and taxable court costs, collection-agency fees, service-of-process costs, reasonable costs of locating or recovering equipment, reasonable shipping or retrieval expenses, reasonable costs of documenting damage, loss, or replacement value, and reasonable costs incurred to enforce or collect a judgment.
We may inspect returned equipment after it arrives.
Carrier acceptance or physical receipt of the package does not by itself establish that all contents are present or undamaged.
If something is missing, damaged, altered, not functioning, or requires special cleaning, we may assess the reasonable repair, cleaning, or replacement amount authorized by this agreement. Any properly due amount must be paid or otherwise resolved in writing before The Weekend Tape is required to begin or continue editing, final processing, revision work, or delivery of any Weekend Tape, raw clips, or other deliverables.
The memory card must be returned with the kit unless we expressly tell you otherwise.
Do not erase, format, intentionally alter, or intentionally remove footage before returning the card.
We will make reasonable efforts to access, back up, review, edit, and deliver usable footage from the returned card.
We are not responsible for footage that was never recorded, deleted by users, corrupted, damaged, inaccessible, incomplete, or otherwise unavailable because of guest actions, memory-card issues, equipment misuse, shipping damage, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
The Weekend Tape is a guest-filmed experience.
We do not guarantee that any particular person, event, vow, speech, dance, reaction, location, audio, conversation, or moment will be recorded.
The final edited Weekend Tape depends on the footage captured and returned.
We use creative judgment to select footage, arrange clips, shape the story, determine pacing, and create the finished Weekend Tape.
The film is intentionally designed to feel like a nostalgic home movie.
One revision is included. Revision requests must be submitted within 14 days after delivery.
All usable raw clips are generally delivered digitally to the client’s online gallery within 72 hours after we receive the returned kit.
Standard delivery of the finished Weekend Tape is generally 3–5 weeks after we receive the returned kit.
When capacity allows, Rush Edit may be purchased for $175, with the finished Weekend Tape targeted for delivery within 10 business days after we receive the returned kit.
The standard finished Weekend Tape is approximately 3–5 minutes. The Extended Weekend Tape upgrade targets an approximately 8–10 minute edit.
The Weekend Tape is not required to begin or continue editing, final processing, file preparation, revision work, or delivery until all rental equipment has been returned, the returned kit has been inspected, and all amounts properly due under the booking and this Kit Rental Agreement have been paid or otherwise resolved in writing.
Your finished Weekend Tape and all usable raw clips are intended to remain available and backed up in your online gallery for one year after delivery. Clients should download and safely store their files before that period ends.
You may download, save, share, post, copy, and enjoy your delivered files for personal purposes.
You are responsible for downloading and safely storing delivered files. We do not promise indefinite archival storage of films or raw clips.
By booking The Weekend Tape, you grant Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape permission to use reasonable portions of edited Weekend Tapes, usable raw clips, still images, audio, testimonials, and related wedding content for portfolio, website, social media, promotional, educational, and advertising purposes.
We may reasonably crop, resize, shorten, caption, combine, or reformat content for these purposes.
You may opt out.
If you prefer that your wedding footage not be used publicly, notify us in writing at [email protected] before delivery of your edited Weekend Tape.
Because each kit is reserved and prepared for a particular wedding or event, the cancellation policy in the Terms & Conditions applies to this rental.
For bookings made more than 60 days before the wedding, the $150 reservation payment is non-refundable.
Once the kit has shipped, the booking is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law or expressly agreed by The Weekend Tape in writing.
If the wedding or event date changes, we will make reasonable efforts to move the rental when inventory and shipping capacity allow. Date changes are not guaranteed, and additional shipping, handling, equipment, or other costs caused by the change may be charged to the client.
If we cannot reasonably provide the kit because of circumstances within our control, we may provide replacement equipment, another solution, a credit, or an appropriate refund based on services already provided.
We are not responsible for delays or inability to perform caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, shipping-carrier disruption, emergencies, illness, supply shortages, labor disruptions, government actions, power failures, or similar events.
Applicable taxes or other charges may be collected where legally required.
Shipping included in a collection refers to the normal approved shipping process. Special shipping requests, address corrections, expedited shipping requested by the client, late balance payment that makes expedited shipping necessary, or additional shipments may involve added charges.
Rush Delivery is currently offered for $95 when available and remains subject to kit inventory and carrier availability.
You may allow guests, family, and friends to use the equipment for your wedding weekend.
You may not sell, commercially sublease, or transfer the kit to another event or customer without our written permission.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joy and Ben LLC and The Weekend Tape will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or similar damages arising from equipment use, guest-filmed footage, missed moments, lost footage, carrier delays, or other matters related to this agreement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability relating to a specific rental or service will not exceed the amount actually paid for the service giving rise to the claim.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Joy and Ben LLC, The Weekend Tape, its owners, employees, contractors, editors, and service providers from third-party claims arising from:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, this Kit Rental Agreement and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the rental, possession, use, return, damage, loss, payment obligations, or recovery of the equipment will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Arizona and agree that an action arising out of or relating to this agreement may be brought in an appropriate court located in Arizona. If applicable consumer-protection, consumer-lease, jurisdictional, or other mandatory law does not permit Arizona law or an Arizona forum to control a particular dispute, that mandatory law will apply only to the extent required.
Nothing in this agreement prevents The Weekend Tape from bringing an action or taking another lawful enforcement step in another jurisdiction when reasonably necessary to recover equipment, collect amounts properly due, enforce a judgment, obtain provisional or injunctive relief, or otherwise protect its property or legal rights.
If you fail to timely return equipment, fail to pay an amount properly due, damage or fail to return rental property, breach this agreement, or otherwise cause The Weekend Tape to take reasonable action to protect or enforce its contractual or property rights, you agree, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to reimburse The Weekend Tape for reasonable costs actually incurred in connection with that collection, enforcement, or recovery.
Recoverable amounts may include reasonable attorneys' fees, court filing fees and taxable court costs, collection-agency fees, service-of-process costs, reasonable costs of locating or recovering rental equipment, reasonable shipping or retrieval expenses, reasonable costs of documenting damage, loss, or replacement value, fees incurred to enforce or collect a judgment, and other reasonable third-party costs directly resulting from your breach or failure to satisfy amounts properly due, only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
In any formal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this agreement, the prevailing party will be entitled, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and recoverable costs. These rights are in addition to any other right to fees or costs available by contract, statute, rule, judgment, or law.
If a provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the fullest extent permitted.
Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our ability to enforce it or another provision later.
This Kit Rental Agreement, the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, checkout information, booking confirmation, and any agreed written modifications form the agreement governing the rental and related service.
Obligations concerning equipment return, late fees, missing or damaged equipment, replacement costs, payment authorization, collection and enforcement, governing law, jurisdiction, attorneys' fees, indemnification, and other provisions that by their nature should continue will survive completion, cancellation, expiration, or termination of the rental and related services to the extent necessary to enforce rights or obligations arising from the booking.
We may update the public version of this Kit Rental Agreement by posting a revised version on our website.
For an existing booking, the version accepted at booking will generally govern that booking unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.
