About The Weekend Tape
After personally photographing and attending more than 350 weddings, one thing became impossible to miss: no matter how beautifully a wedding is photographed or filmed, there is always another version of the day happening just outside the couple’s view. The Weekend Tape was created for that version.
Why It Exists
We’re Joy and Ben, a husband-and-wife team who have personally photographed and attended more than 350 weddings.
That experience is where The Weekend Tape came from. We did not start with a camcorder and build a wedding business around it. We started with weddings and built The Weekend Tape around what we knew was missing.
After hundreds of wedding days, we know how quickly everything moves. We know what couples are doing in the days leading up to the wedding, what is happening around them while the day unfolds, and what matters once the weekend is over and the memories start settling in.
The camera is part of it. Knowing what to do with it before the wedding, during the wedding, and after it’s over is the part that took us 350+ weddings to learn.
A Different Point of View
Your photographer knows where the light is. Your videographer knows how to build a beautiful film. Your best friend knows exactly why everyone is laughing.
The Weekend Tape is not meant to replace professional wedding coverage. It gives you the part only your people can make.
They know the stories behind the jokes, who will make everyone cry, which friend needs the camera next, and why a tiny moment matters even when it would look ordinary to anyone else.
The Point
A camcorder is easy to buy. The difference is everything around it: when it arrives, how easy it is to use, what your people are encouraged to capture, how the footage is handled afterward, and how those clips are shaped into something you will actually want to watch again.
We designed the kit around real wedding logistics: enough time before the wedding, simple instructions, charged batteries, recording space, prompts, and a setup that does not become another thing to manage.
We know the camera has to be easy enough to hand to a bridesmaid, cousin, college roommate, or groomsman and still capture the conversations, reactions, jokes, and late-night moments happening all around you.
A pile of clips is not the goal. We review the footage, organize the usable moments, and edit them into a nostalgic Weekend Tape that feels like a memory.
Behind The Weekend Tape
We’re a husband-and-wife team and wedding photographers. For years, we’ve had the privilege of standing close enough to wedding days to notice all the little things happening around them.
We love beautiful wedding photographs. We love thoughtfully made wedding films. But we also love the completely unpolished stuff: the terrible dancing, the conversations no one planned, someone laughing so hard the camera shakes, and the messages your friends leave for you at midnight.
We wanted couples to have that part too.

A Wedding Service First
We designed The Weekend Tape around the entire experience: what happens before your wedding, while the camera is in your people’s hands, and after the kit comes back to us.
Because the goal is not simply to give you a camcorder. The goal is to give you the part of your wedding you did not get to see.
Your Wedding, From Everyone Else’s Point of View
You’ll already have the memories you saw. Let your people capture the ones you didn’t. We’ll send the kit, they’ll film the weekend, and we’ll turn what they capture into your Weekend Tape.
